Grants Process
Grants are supplemental funding for which clubs may apply throughout the year. Student Council runs its grant cycle on a weekly basis to review submitted applications and meet with student organizations to discuss their proposals. This ensures that student organizations have timely access to funding for their events, initiatives, and equipment.
Here are the steps:
Submit a grant request, which can be found under 'Forms' on Clark Engage. The application includes some short questions, a Google Doc request template, and an area to submit a presentation for your meeting. The presentation is not required.
After submitting the grant, the submitter will receive an email from the Grants Committee to schedule a meeting. In the fall of 2026, meetings are on Mondays starting at 6:00 PM.
When the club meets with the committee, they will present their grant request and then answer some short questions from the committee. Once clubs are finished meeting, the committee will deliberate.
Once the committee decides how much to allocate, they will email the submitter to let them know.
On Thursday, the Chair of the Grants Committee will present all of the grant requests from the previous week to the larger Student Council, who will vote on the committee's recommendation. Clubs are welcome to speak during the public comments sectin of the meeting, but it is not required.
If Student Council votes to approve the grant slate, the CUSC Treasurer will email the submitter of the request to let them know!
Once you have a grant, you cann submit a purchase request through SLICE. The CUSC Treasurer is happy to help if you need it!
